Four months out from the election and Democrats continue to hold a very small lead in the generic Congressional ballot. According to Quinnipiac, if the election was held today 41 percent would vote for a Democrats in the House of Representatives while 39 percent would vote for a Republican.

This two point lead is unchanged since April when Quinnipiac last ask the question and in line with all other recent polling.

Democrats seem to have a small lead in the generic ballot but that is not enough to overcome Republicans huge build in advantage in the House. Unless there is a big political shift it appears the make up of the House will remain mostly unchanged after November.

Interesting, Quinnipiac also asked voters who they wanted to win control of the Senate and got a slightly different result. The poll found 46 percent want to see Republicans win control of the Senate while only 44 percent want to see Democrats remain in charge of the chamber. That should be slightly concern to Democrats because that is where the big focus of this election will be since they have so many more seats to defend than Republicans.
